Paula Jane Francis is the very talented organist at Carman United.
Paula Jane has a Master’s Degree from the University of Oklahoma. While there as a Rotary International Scholar, she specialized in organ performance.
In the fall of 1977, she continued her studies at the Royal College of Music in London on a British Commonwealth Scholarship and received the A.R.C.M., A.R.C.O., and L.R.A.M. Diplomas. During her two years in London she sang in the Bach Choir under the direction of Sir David Willcocks.
On her return to Canada, Paula Jane presented numerous organ recitals at St. James Cathedral and Yorkminster Park and was a member of the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir under the direction of Dr. Elmer Iseler.
In 1987, Ms. Francis resumed her position as accompanist for the Cape Breton chorale. Professionally, she is a music educator with the Cape Breton Victoria Regional School Board.
